BCMazda3 September Go Kart Meet
Great turnout for some racing action during our September meet. Big thanks to Andrew (Rofflewaffle604) for organizing! On to the pictures!
Oregon Trip 2010 – Day 3
Day 3 of the adventure, and we are checking out of Seaside, OR and its' beautiful beaches and travelling further south down the 101 to stay a few nights in Florence, OR and check out the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Along the way we stop at the Tillamook Cheese Dairy factory for some cheese samples and ice cream (sugar free for me). Check out the gallery!
And now a panorama of our view off our hotel room deck. On the right is the Florence Bridge crossing over the Siuslaw River and on the right is part of the sand dunes, part of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area.
New Shoes – Low Budget
The shoes were on sale, therefore, low budget... Did you fall for that?
Neither did I.
But, the lighting and photography was relatively low budget this time. I used my girlfriends brand new Canon G11, relatively cheap compared to other cameras you could purchase, capable of manual control and has a hot shoe; two very important features for Strobist style shooting. The flash I used was a Yongnuo YN462, triggered with a Yongnuo PT-04 from Deal Extreme. I also used a light stand, umbrella, umbrella adapter and a home made reflector. All in all, Strobist everything for sub $700.
In case you are wondering why the photos are square cropped, it is because I didn't know the G11 doesn't shoot in 4x6 like my 40D, so my framing didn't allow me to make my usual crop, but I do like the square framing here. Live and learn.
Some STI’s
Kev detailed Brent's STI today and Darryl was there. I whore'd some STI photos as they whore'd some STIs.
Rhys Millen Pike’s Peak World Record
An amazing video of Rhys Millen making a world record setting run at the Pike's Peak Hill Climb.
I've seen some great video from Joshua Heron who had part in the making of this video.
Daybreakers Trailer
I love zombie and vampire movies. Well maybe not Twilight, but I shouldn't bash it as I haven't actually seen it yet. But Daybreakers looks to be pretty damn awesome.
Of course, I am also awaiting Inglorious Basterds... Quentin Tarantino directing Nazi Killing. Should be a gooder.
